Eminem Joins Kxng Crooked for “Welcome to Planet X”

A few weeks after revealing plans for his next studio album and sharing the expansive “Campaign Speech,” Eminem reconnects with his Shady Records cohort Kxng Crooked for “Welcome to Planet X.” Released in support of Kxng Crooked’s forthcoming LP Good Vs. Evil,  “Welcome to Planet X” is billed as an introduction to the themes at play on the Long Beach rapper’s new album. “Taking place in an alternate reality, ‘Planet X’ kicks off the concept of the entire album. Right away, Eminem provides commentary that lets you know you’re being exposed to a world different than your own,” Crooked tells Billboard. Likening the “world” of Good Vs. Evil to the one we all inhabit, Kxng Crooked explains that today’s issues of “environmental racism, police brutality, extreme poverty, crooked cops and politicians” are present in the stories he created, however he ends his statement with one major difference between the real world and his fictional one. “In this alternate reality the lower class citizens use violence to fight back at all times. So if you’re the governor of Michigan and the people of Flint blame you for its water crisis, they’ll come for your head!” Kxng Crooked says.

You can stream “Welcome to Planet X” below, while Good Vs. Evil will arrive on November 11.
