J.J. Abrams Will Develop a TV Series Based on Michael Jackson’s Last Days

Producer juggernaut J.J. Abrams and Tavis Smiley are joining forces for a TV series based on Michael Jackson’s last days. Set to be developed under Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, the series will be an adaptation of Smiley and David Ritz’ book Before You Judge Me: The Triumph and Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Last Days for Warner Bros. Television. The book delves into the sixteen weeks leading up to Jackson’s tragic death, focusing on his struggle to find solace and privacy amidst his astounding worldwide fame. There have been whispers of the book being adapted for television circulating since last October, when Smiley and Warner Bros. Television inked a lucrative development deal, but Abrams has only just joined the project this week.
