The First-Week Sales Numbers For Drake’s ‘VIEWS’ Are In

As expected, Drake’s latest opus VIEWS is set for a massive debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. As Billboard points out, the album will sell approximately 800,000 copies its first week. The piece was released exclusively for sale through the iTunes Store and to stream via Apple Music on April 29 by Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records. And that’s not enough. In addition, the album’s overall equivalent album unit sum for the week could surpass 900,000, securing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. According to sources at Republic Records, VIEWS over 630,000 equivalent units in its first day at Apple Music and iTunes combined. This also marks Drake’s best-selling week ever, eclipsing the mark set by Nothing Was The Same, which sold 658,000 copies its first week.
