Good morning. Time to stock up on Bitcoin — it’s now more valuable than gold. The cryptocurrency has been on the up-and-up over the past year; last week, it hit an all-time high valuation at $200 per unit. Cryptocurrency advocates argue that a strong Bitcoin market would allow for safer investments and smarter purchases. (Don’t have a clue what Bitcoin is or how it works? Here’s a four-minute explainer.)

Today’s Gear

What’s New, Now

Frye Wright Jodhpur Boot

One part equestrian, one part city, the Wright Jodhpur is made to be an everyday boot comfortable in all environments. The ankle height, slim silhouette and chiseled toe is all city style, while the solid brass hardware and leather soles give a nod to the durability needed for everyday wear. The leather is Italian calf leather, which is incredibly soft yet durable. Each boot is handcrafted in family-owned factories in Tuscany using the most time-honored methods — and the materials and construction easily justify the cost.

Outlier Strong Dungarees

Looks like a pair of standard black jeans, right? Far from it. They’re woven with a “tough as fuck” blend of Supplex, an extremely fine nylon yarn, and stretchy midweight twill. Basically: they’re soft and comfortable without being vulnerable to abrasion, and strong without feeling like an old prospector’s raw denim. And they’re handsome as fuck, too!

Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo

The Porsche Panamera finally looks like the stunner it was always meant to be.

The Macallan x URWERK Flask

This is what happens when you set loose a bunch of world-class Swiss watch engineers on designing a drinking flask. No, scratch that — drinking flask hardly comes close to describing this thing. It’s made of 156 titanium, aluminum and steel parts. 156! It has two separate tanks, the cask type and year is indicated by spinning dials, the whiskey is selected by a rotating nozzle. Slap on some wings and a jet engine and you’d have a tiny F-22 Raptor. Unreasonable? Completely. But goddamnit, so magnificent.

Former Apparel

Since bucking big sponsor contracts from Quiksilver, professional surfers Dane Reynolds and Craig Anderson have been keeping message boards plump for almost a year with rumors surrounding a purported new clothing brand. Now, along with skateboarder Austyn Gillette, the trio has launched Former. The inaugural collection, titled Luxury 29.99, is simple, limited, and mostly black and white (everything big surf and skate brands are not). – Tanner Bowden, Editorial Apprentice

Stance Adventure Socks

The folks at Stance have long been masters of sock design, but have mostly stuck to casual, dress and sport. Now they’ve entered into the camping and hiking realm. The new collection includes 10 uniquely patterned socks, several of which have a nice and thick footbed for multi-day treks.
