Chance the Rapper Opens Up About Collab Album With Kanye West, ‘Good Ass Job’

Earlier today, Chance the Rapper was a guest on Power 106’s morning program The Cruz Show. Speaking to J Cruz and company, Chance spoke at-length about working with Kanye West, his latest album, Saturday Night Live and more. Speaking, Chance opened up a possible joint album with Kanye West — Good Ass Job — and Yeezy’s forthcoming collaborative LP with Drake. You can check out the entire exchange with The Cruz Show below, as well as some select quotes from the sitdown.

On joint album with Kanye West:

The Good Ass Job, that’s something that’s just been a dream for me. I’m a Chicago kid, so I’m a super Ye fan, and I used to watch all the, you know, YouTube videos and, like, him speaking. And I remember just watching a video a long time ago where he would go on, he was explaining, you know, how you have your College Dropout, and then you go back you have your Late Registration, and then you finally get your Graduation. And after you graduate, you gotta go get a Good Ass Job, so that was a thing in my head forever, and, you know, if you’re a Ye fan, you know, then he went on 808s & Heartbreak, and then you’re like, “OK, Good Ass Job will be next,” and then he does Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne.

And all of those things are albums that shaped my life, but I just, I cannot wait to, you know, really just bunker down. We definitely have at least two songs I could say I know would be on Good Ass Job, but to be, you know, back in the bunker and be at the spot and have that time to just sit and make stuff everyday is my dream.

Kanye West’s tour:

I know that he did it on purpose ’cause he does shit like this on purpose, but, bro, please turn that shit down. The way he has it set up because of that giant pit, you know, he removed the stage, so the stage is elevated and there’s a huge pit on the floor, but I think because of the fact that he’s not on one side of the arena, the acoustics make it so that he has to put the subs around the base of the floor, and it makes it a crazier experience, but God damn. Literally, my stomach felt like I had, like, internal bleeding because of how much it was shaking and how loud it was. So, if you see this, I’m just gonna text you so you don’t see this and get mad later, but turn that shit down just, just, like, four dBs or something. I don’t know.
