Dwyane Wade Signs One-Year Deal With the Cavs

It was only a few hours ago that news broke out of a possible Dwyane Wade/LeBron James reunion over at the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two former players were once part of Miami Heat’s Big Three which also included Chris Bosh. The trio — all part of 2003′s NBA Draft — went on to win two NBA Championships with the Heat.

Now it has been confirmed Wade is indeed heading to the Cavs, having just signed a one-year, $2.3 million USD deal according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania. Wade reached a contract buyout with the Chicago Bulls on Sunday and is expected to sign the deal with the Cavs this week after clearing waivers on Wednesday.

Wade, who will turn 36 in January, is expected to give additional playmaking and scoring to the Cavaliers, who must now waive a guaranteed contract by the start of the regular season. Wade left the Heat last summer to join the Chicago Bulls for a two-year, $47 USD million contract. After one season, Wade’s buyout ended up costing him around $8 million USD in negotiating his release from Chicago. Are you happy to see Wade and LeBron reunite?
