Brooklyn born, LA-based artist Gregory Siff is internationally renowned for his color-drenched artworks that contain whimsical visualizations of pop culture phenomena and personal objects from his childhood. Siff will soon launch an exhibition at New York City’s 4AM Gallery entitled “When You Were Little You Used To Color.” The week-long show will put on a striking display of large-scale sculptures, paintings on canvas, an interactive mural installation, as well as works on papyrus.
Accompanying the works is the launch of special coloring books crafted by hand. The artist hand screen-printed all 28 pages of the book including the front and back covers. Sized at 11 x 8.375 inches, the hardcover tome will arrive as a signed and numbered edition of 55 with seven artist proofs and four test proofs. Not to mention, each book will include a set of three Gregory crayons comprised of primary blue, red, and yellow options alongside a spray-painted POP ROCK foil candy package to celebrate the opening of the show. Conclusively, each book will sell for approximately $175 USD each at 4AM Gallery as well as 1xRUN’s official website.
“The coloring book is a biography of the artist’s private moments and invites the reader to color in the memories to bring them to life,” said the gallery in a statement. Siff’s most recent collaboration was with Saint Laurent, embellishing his signature motifs on the fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2018 men’s and women’s collections.
