iPhone X Official Name and iOS 11 Leak

According to iOS 11 firmware leaks attained by 9to5mac, Apple will unveil the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X this coming Tuesday, September 12. The name of the forthcoming iPhone model has been disputed for months, but it now seems as if we’ll get both. The former — the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus — will be modest upgrades to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with the same industrial design, glass backs, the new A11 chip, and wireless charging capabilities. The iPhone X however will be the nearly-bezelless OLED model that has been touted and teased as the iPhone 8 for months. It’ll feature a 5.8-inch OLED display in a body only slightly larger than the current 4.7-inch iPhone 7.

In addition to the name leaks, reports suggest iOS 11 will include a new set of wallpapers, capability for the LTE Apple Watch, a “Portrait Lighting” feature, new video recording resolution and capture speeds, Face ID, 3D animated emojis called “Animoji,” and much more.

With Apple’s keynote slated for Tuesday, September 12, continue to check back for the latest iPhone rumors.
