Renowned Senior Design Director for Nike Sportswear Women’s Apparel Johanna Schneider offers her exploration of color for a personalized take on the new Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit for NIKEiD. Certain colorways of the model nod to iconic Nike schemes, while others reference nature, superheroes or spacesuits. Her color palette for the silhouette pairs traditional colors with sophisticated applications, a similar method Schneider employed when designing for brands like ACRONYM and Stone Island.
Heathered black and gray knit highlight the Flyknit’s grainy texture; to contrast the neutrality of the upper, Schneider colored the VaporMax Air unit with what she calls a glass bottle green and a warm hyper orange that she considers the color of life. These color palettes can also be used to personalization the unit and its many sections via the NIKEiD service. The Nike Air VaporMax by Johanna F. Schneider is now available exclusively to NikePlus members and is available starting September 7 on the NIKEiD page.
