Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ Returns to No. 1

Since Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN. album was released in April, it has gone on to receive double platinum status and sat comfortably at the top of the Billboard 200 albums charts for three weeks in a row before losing out to JAY-Z’s 4:44. However yesterday DAMN. reclaimed the No.1 spot on the charts, making it the fourth week Lamar has secured the top spot in the Billboard charts. This news comes after Lamar surprised his audience by bringing out his TDE cohorts, ScHoolboy Q, SZA and Jay Rock during his final show of the first leg of his tour.

Billboard notes that “the album is the week’s most-streamed title on the Billboard 200, with 46.2 million on-demand audio streams generated by its songs.” DAMN. finished first with sales of 47,000 copies total, with 11,000 coming from traditional album sales and the rest from streaming equivalent albums, or SEAs.
