Kinfolk x master-piece 2017 Fall Bags Collection

Late last month, Kinfolk unveiled a special Helly Hansen heritage collection to celebrate the iconic brand’s 140th anniversary. Continuing to focus on unique collaborative pairings, the recent GQ and Gap favorite joins creative forces with acclaimed Japanese brand Master-Piece to put together a lean line of biker bags.

Available in two different iterations, Kinfolk and Master-Piece’s Fall 2017 capsule collection is comprised of a duo of vibrant takes on the all-purpose, fashionable bikers bag. The partnership looks to create something that combined artisanal creativity with sturdy construction and the sort of high-level functionality that’s worthy of New York City’s busiest individuals. Regarding specific features, the MASTERTEX-06 fabric used for these products gives the bags protection from the elements and moisture and the entire blueprint behind this bikers bag’s build was planned with New York City’s harshest environmental and societal pressures in mind.

“My vision for the bag was based off of finding balance in this fast life of New York City. As someone who grew up in New York and one who’s constantly on the move, I’ve always found the need for bags that are essential to the environment,” explains Josh Ilyas, a multi-talented store manager and buyer at the forefront of Master-Piece’s design process for this joint collection. “I wanted to create something functional that represented New York City aesthetically.” Concluding his statement, Ilyas sums it up best by billing this production as a “seamless combination of Kinfolk’s embodiment of New York and Master-Piece’s ‘Made in Japan’ philosophy.”
