Q-Tip Criticizes the GRAMMYs After A Tribe Called Quest Snub

The GRAMMYs revealed its 2017 nominations this morning and for the first time, and thanks to online voting, nominees are the most diverse ever. However, not everyone is happy with the Recording Academy’s nods. A Tribe Called Quest‘s Q-Tip has shared a series of videos targeting the board for not nominating A Tribe Called Quest’s well-received album, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.

“Y’all f*ckin busted y’all ass to try and get us out there and perform! You think a n*gga wanted to f*ckin’ go out there and perform after I lost my man? We closed y’all show and we don’t get no f*cking nominations? The last Tribe album? My man is gone! We been doing this sh*t for f*cking years! Y’all n*ggas don’t f*ckin’ recognize.”

“Y’all think it’s some sort of caveat because this is the first time that no white man was nominated in no major categories and sh*t?” he continues. “We were the most black cultured group out. That’s all we stood on. That’s what we represented. This f*ckin’ album we just dropped. This last Tribe album. It stands with everyone else’s sh*t that’s up there. I don’t give a f*ck. I’m sick of y’all GRAMMY n*ggas, man. You get us to get out there and f*ckin’ perform last year, and y’all don’t get us no nominations?”

Watch his videos below and let us know if you think ATCQ should have been nominated for the GRAMMYs. Check out the full list of nominations here.
