Roberto Cavalli 2018 Pre-Fall Men’s Collection

Appointed just this year in May, creative director Paul Surridge prescribes a noticeably modern attitude for Roberto Cavalli in the latest Pre-Fall 2018 collection. Not an unlettered novice in menswear, the designer has worked for Prada, Burberry, Calvin Klein and Ermenegildo Zegna. Self-evident in the collection are influences of his past seen on tailored trench coat silhouettes and suits. Without being callous to the Roberto Cavalli identity, Surridge continues a flamboyant quality with animal motifs and concrete patterns in a humbled approach.

Among leather jackets, trench coats, suits, shirts and more, highlights include a beige plaid coat, oxblood leather trench coat, tan leather bomber jacket and navy pinstripe suit. The work carries an undeniable commercial forwardness marked by daywear pieces in traditional patterns and textures.

The brand has seen tumultuous seasons unable to meet changes in consumer preferences and taste resulting in financial underperformance. Surridge hopes to steady the label through his firm belief in collaboration and teamwork.
