Thames Unveils Stephen Webster Jewelry Collab

After launching a collaboration with Fred Perry and dropping its Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Blondey McCoy‘s Thames brand has now announced its latest release. The 12-piece jewelry capsule — a joint effort between the brand and highly respected jewelry designer Stephen Webster – includes a range of rings, necklaces and earrings which reference everything from razor blades to the cherub design that the brand has used in the past.

Speaking to Business of Fashion about the collection, McCoy explains that this was different from other collaborations: “A lot of collaborations between brands are quite thinly veiled money making schemes, whacking two logos on one item just seems to double its value. But really, Thames by Stephen Webster is a breath of fresh air, because it’s a product that Thames certainly couldn’t have created on its own.” Similarly Webster discussed how working with McCoy allowed him to bring streetwear sensibilities to his work: “Streetwear on the whole is not about elitism, and the best thing that we can do is make something that isn’t elitist.”

The Thames by Stephen Webster collection is set to drop on September 19 with prices ranging from £350  GBP (approx. $450 USD) to £8,000 GBP (roughly $10,400 USD). As well as his work with Thames, Blondey McCoy has also skated in Palace’s recent “The Merchandise” video, and unveiled an artistic collaboration with Damien Hirst.
