Like many other talented athletes before him, dominant, famed Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has a few of the usual suspects as his playlist staples. As Billboard notes, to warm himself up for his historic Olympic gold medal victories, Phelps prepares himself via an audio diet of Eminem, Jeezy and Eric Church. His pre-competition playlists were revealed to The New York Times and NYT journalist Karen Crouse, who documented Michael Phelps’ current run for an exclusive new interview and feature. Interestingly, Eminem is also a popular listening choice for the President of the country Phelps represents in the Olympics; Obama used “Lose Yourself” to pump himself up prior to his recent Democratic National Convention address.
