Walter Pfeiffer x Helmut Lang Artist Series

Back in August, Helmut Lang announced that it would be starting “a year-long program featuring 12 visual artists” dubbed, Helmut Lang Seen by: The Artist Series. Now, the platform has officially debuted with Swiss creative Walter Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer is renowned for his photographic works which started in the 70s – they include portraits of close confidants, intimate partners and the youth throughout the cities he’s visited such as Zurich, Paris and New York. In and around the 90s and early 2000s, Pfeiffer’s works were considered to be in the realm of artists such as Wolfgang Tillmans, Ryan McGinley, Slava Mogutin, Heinz Peter Knes and Jack Pierson. Artist and fashion photographer Juergen Teller sites Pfeiffer as an influence.

Helmut Lang Seen by: The Artist Series is the brainchild of Editor-in-Residence Isabella Burley and the new range consists of posters, T-shirts, pillows and blankets all emblazoned with Pfeiffer’s images from the ’80’s. Prices range from $35 USD to $250 USD and are available today in store and online as well as retailers like Opening Ceremony, SSENSE, Idea Books, colette and more. Proceeds from the sales will also be donated to the nature conservatory.
