Wes Anderson’s ‘Isle of Dogs’ Official Trailer

It’s been nearly a year since Wes Anderson announced that he was working on a stop-motion animation film about dogs and now, finally, the first trailer has arrived. The Isle of Dogs trailer outlines the major plot points of the film which revolves around all dogs in Japan being set to an exile colony (from which the film’s name is taken) until a 12-year-old boy begins the search for his childhood pet.

Isle of Dogs features a range of big names, most of whom are regular Wes Anderson collaborators, with the likes of Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Edward Norton starring alongside Bryan Cranston and Yoko Ono. The trailer also shows that the film, despite being an animation, features many of the cinematographic elements that Wes Anderson is known for, with symmetrical shots and a focus on the center-line of each frame.

Isle of Dogs is set to release on April 20, 2018, but if you can’t wait until then, check out these images of real-world Wes Anderson locations.
