Bugatti Chiron Sky View – Close to Roofless Bugatti as it gets

Debuting at the Monterey Car Week in August 2018, the new Bugatti Chiron Sky View is as close to a roofless Bugatti sport coupe as it gets. Thanks to newly developed laminated glass offering outstanding noise abatement and thermal comfort, engineers at Bugatti have replaced two panels in the roof of the Chiron Sky View with the new innovation which not only reflects harmful UV rays but also provides privacy from the outside while welcome the sky into the interior cabin of the Bugatti Chiron Sky View.

Close to Roofless – Bugatti Chiron Sky View

Two fixed glass panels in the roof above the driver’s and passenger’s seats of the new Chiron Sky View while at the same time as offering occupants more headroom (about 2.7 additional centimetres of headroom), offer occupants a quiet, panoramic view of the sky overhead even at the Chiron’s top speed of 261 mph.

Newly developed laminated glass offering outstanding noise abatement and thermal comfort allowed engineers at Bugatti to replace the regular roof and badge the new Chiron, Sky View

Though slated to be presented in August at Pebble Beach (USA), the new Bugatti Chiron Sky View is available to market with immediate effect. The new Chiron Sky View takes its name from two fixed glass panels in the roof of the vehicle, each 65 cm long and 44 cm wide, above the driver’s and passenger’s seats. The newly developed laminated structure with thin glass and four intermediate layers are tinted to prevent dazzle effects (it’s still not safe to stare at the sun though) and to protect occupants’ privacy. Furthermore, infrared radiation shielded, the rays bounce off rather than penetrate, leaving the cabin cool in addition, ultraviolet (UVA and UVB) radiation is filtered out.

The beating heart of the new Chiron Sky View is one you’d recognise – a quad-turbocharged 8 l W16 engine with two-stage turbocharging system generating 1,500 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque, with an almost linear power curve between 2,000 and 6,000 rpm. It’s not a roofless Chiron but it’s about as close as it gets.
