The Ferretti shipyard is celebrating its 50th birthday this year, and the Ferretti Yachts 780 Tai He Ban Edition is ready to party at the Singapore Yacht Show. This fantastic flybridge yacht is offering a modern and rewarding yachting experience.
A collaborative effort between the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari, its Engineering Department, and the Studio Zuccon International Project, the Ferretti Yachts 780 THB has been described as “a dream come true” in terms of comfort, style, seaworthiness and safety.
The Ferretti 780 had its worldwide debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival last year, but the ‘Tai He Ban’ version has only just be launched, and will be presented to the Asian market at the Singapore Yacht Show in April 2018.
Many of the successful features from Ferretti models launched over the last three years (Ferretti Yachts 550, 700, 450 and 850) can be found in this boat, but she has inherited so much more – most importantly the new elements that have been added that continues the Ferretti philosophy of always developing cutting-edge solutions to make yachting more enjoyable.
Beach Club
One of this yacht’s most important innovations can be found all the way aft – a real Beach Club, offering loads of space and comfort, thanks to the new tailgate operating system. Above the large swimming platform (where a tender can be stored upon request), the two sections that form the tailgate can be lowered together or separately. These contain two large sun pads, which, once the tailgate is fully opened, transform the space into a relaxing area close to the water. Ample storage spaces have been built into the sides of the companionway leading up to the cockpit, and these can be used to store a SeaBob, ropes and other technical materials.
Outdoor Areas
The large flybridge from aft and amidships, features beautiful free-standing outdoor furnishings that have been developed in collaboration with the Italian company Roda. Meanwhile, forward and to starboard, the helm station is equipped with a small table and two facing sofas that can be converted into sun pads. The outer bow area is a large private lounge, fitted with a C-shaped sofa and a vast central sunpad with lockers located beneath it.
Inviting Interiors
Beyond the glass door of the cockpit is the entry to the main deck lounge. Located on a single level, it features Mardegan parquet flooring in brushed oak. Located on one level the living area has a large C-shaped sofa, a coffee table with a Calacatta marble top, and two armchairs – all by Minotti. Beyond the lounge is a dining area that seats up to eight guests, with its large table and chairs by Poltrona Frau. The forward section of the deck is reserved for a bar area featuring wood furniture and marble walls.
The raised pilot-house features a system of multiple touchscreen displays that integrate the craft’s navigation systems with the controls for the technical instrumentation and power train. A door on the starboard side provides easy access to the exterior walkway, and the port side bulwark has a separate companionway that allows owner and guests to proceed to their accommodation independently.
Below deck there are two cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, decorated in Florim Calcatta Gold marble. The bow cabin is a VIP guest suite, and on the starboard side is a twin-bed guest cabin. The entertainment room enjoys magnificent natural light thanks to double glazed windows with integrated flush portholes, over which Zimmer-Rohde curtains can be rolled down.
Furnished with a sofa and pull-out bed made with leather by Mastrotto and fabrics by Camengo, the sofa features decorative branded cushions by Misia Soleil, Mastrotto and Gentili Mosconi. The two square-shaped coffee tables are by Minotti. The galley occupies the starboard side and features the latest in modern Italian equipment and design.
Far aft, and separated from the guest areas by the engine room, is the crew area, which can be accessed from the cockpit. Designed with comfort in mind, it is among the most spacious for this market segment. It includes a cabin for the captain and a second, with two bunk beds, for the crew. Each cabin has its own separate bathroom. In the standard version, there is a storage area in place of the captain’s cabin. A watertight door leads directly to the engine room, which is also accessible via the cockpit hatch.
Engines
The first Ferretti Yachts 780 THB is equipped with an optional engine assembly consisting of twin MAN engines providing 1550hp and giving the yacht a cruising speed of 27 knots and a top speed of 31 knots (preliminary data). To ensure maximum comfort even when at anchor, this new 78-footer is also equipped with Seakeeper stabilisers.
