Pershing has launched the first unit of its new 140, the brand’s new flagship and the first aluminium superyacht made by the Italian yard, which is part of the Ferretti Group.
In January, Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi had billed 2019 as “the year of Pershing” ahead of world premiere of the 8X at January’s Boot Dusseldorf in Germany.
However, there was even greater anticipation around the launch of the new 140-footer, which was the yard’s first model to be produced at the Ferretti Group’s Superyacht Yard in Ancona, a facility specialised in building steel or aluminium yachts above 40m.
The 43.3m superyacht is a collaboration between architect Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee led by engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Group’s Engineering Department.
The 140’s aggressive profile blends novel design elements with iconic details also revealed on other recent models, such as the two lateral wings integrated into the superstructure and connected to the gunwale at the start of the walkways.
On board, the layout of the aft area features a raised cockpit that effectively becomes a mezzanine level, so creating a vast sea-facing space that rises from the water up to the sun deck, linking the entire aft section of the yacht.
The forward area also offers roomy relaxation spaces, while the upper deck is a spacious panoramic terrace that can be entirely furnished with free-standing pieces.
