adidas Made Derrick Rose’s New Shoe In Orange Before Trade To Knicks

Derrick Rose has the opportunity for a fresh start in New York. The one-time league MVP showed signs of brilliance last year in the 66 games that he appeared in. Now he has a chance to transform the new-look Knicks into a playoff contender. adidas apparently knew a change was coming, as they debuted his new D Rose 7 model in a vibrant orange before the trade was even announced.

The adidas D Rose 7 Boost is the most advanced performance model in the D Rose signature series yet thanks to the inclusion of Primeknit and full-length Boost. The numerous panels and GeoFit molded collar aim to provide stability and lockdown support. It only helps that the silhouette is as head-turning as any modern basketball release we’ve seen from the three stripes. A herringbone traction pattern allows for quick cuts.

This vibrant “Solar Red” D Rose 7 colorway may be in reference to the Chicago Fire and hints at Derrick’s ability to rise from the ashes, but it will match the Knicks’ uniforms perfectly once the season starts, as the shade is more orange than red. We can’t wait to see D Rose build chemistry with Carmelo, reconnect with Joakim, and legitimately challenge in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division. If all goes according to plan, they’ll do just that.

This adidas D Rose 7 Boost will arrive at retailers on August 11th for $160 USD. For more colorways of the D Rose 7, check out the full release slate here.
