After joining the adidas Skateboarding team in 2017, street skating savant Diego Nájera has now received his first ever co-created shoe: the Sabalo. The Sabalo’s main design feature is its raised foxing tape — a detail that’s inspired by how a sneaker looks through a fisheye lens — while the cream and white colorway nods to a pair of Raf Simons x adidas Stan Smiths that Nájera’s fond of. Although the shoe is purposefully simplistic in its stylings, it’s not without special details, as a bold embroidered red trefoil logo with the skater’s last name appears on the midfoot. From a performance standpoint, the Sabalo calls upon a sticky flex rubber outsole borrowed from the City Cup to ensure maximum board feel, while an adiprene sockliner promises comfort. Like the clean look? These new skate kicks are available now on adidas.com for a reasonable $70 USD.
