Crooks And Castles Nike Air Max 1 Golf Shoe

Perhaps the most surprising news of the week surfaces as LA-based streetwear pioneer Crooks And Castles announces a collaboration with Nike on the Air Max 1 Golf shoe. While the connection may seem rather random, it is possibly a tribute to Christopher “Lewds” Natalio, the brand’s former marketing director who suddenly passed in 2012. His death sent shockwaves through the hip-hop and streetwear community, with various notable names such as Drake and Russell Simmons honoring Natalio in their own ways, while the brand itself honored him with a golf-inspired “Lewds” capsule in 2013 followed by a follow-up collection in 2014 designed by NYC-based artist Futura. The shoes use the current Air Max 1 Golf silhouette as the base, but feature alternate color-blocking an enlarged Nike Golf logo on the upper, and their infamous chain-link and castle logo on the heel. The brand confirms a release this August, so stay tuned and check out the photos ahead.
