As influential female sneakerheads continue to lead and shape the world of street culture in 2018, Jordan Brand has called upon the iconic Air Jordan 1 as a template for many a special ladies-only release. From a partnership with Aleali May, to the five alternate takes in the “1 Reimagined” collection to this summer’s “Satin” Shattered Backboards, the AJ1 has remained staunchly at the forefront of the Jumpman’s ladies lifestyle offerings. Now, it’s set to serve as a collaborative canvas yet again, this time in conjunction with stylist/influencer Rox Brown. Most well-known for putting Young Thug in a dress on the cover of his “Jeffrey” album, Brown is highly regarded for her unique, fluid, and androgynous view of personal style, and she’s imparted her aesthetic flawlessly onto her Air Jordan 1. The shoe’s all-black upper features a mix of smooth nubuck on the overlays and silky satin on the overlays, while a large rose graces the heel and a small rose adorns the tongue tag, offering unique pops of color. The shoe is then rounded off by a black midsole and icy blue translucent outsole.
