Jordan Brand Classic Showcases The Nation’s Top High School Basketball Talent Of 2016

This weekend was a big one for high school basketball in New York City, with both Nike’s EYBL tournament and the Jordan Brand Classic taking place in the Big Apple. The main event was Friday night’s Jordan Brand Classic, an invitational exhibition game featuring the brightest stars in high school basketball from around the nation on the big stage at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Jordan Brand Classic, which contains future NBA stars every year—former participants include Carmelo Anthony. LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Jabari Parker just to name a few—battled in East vs. West match-ups for both men and women.

The boy’s All-American game concluded with the East besting the West 131-117, with De’Aaron Fox (Katy, TX) scored a game-high 23 points to take home MVP for the East, while Malik Monk (Bentonville, AR) finished with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the West’s MVP honors. For the girls, the West defeated the East, 100 to 94, with double-doubles from two standout MVPs: Team West’s Joyner Holmes (Cedar Hill, TX) and Team East’s Erin Boley (Elizabeth Town, KY). On hand to award MVP trophies for the boys was Carmelo Anthony, while Maya Moore took care of the duties for the lady MVP’s.

This year’s Jordan Brand Classic was complimented with the 166 Flatbush Jordan Brand pop-up boutique across the street from Barclay Center, featuring a number of exclusive and early releases of sneakers and apparel for Nike+ members.
