LeBron James Custom Smiley Face Chuck Taylors

After dropping 51 points on the Golden State Warriors in a frustrating NBA Finals Game 1 defeat Thursday Night, all eyes are on LeBron James as he prepares for Game 2 tonight … and yesterday the King was spotted in a unique pair of custom Converse Chuck  70s.

Created by Mike Cherman of Chinatown Market—a brand known for its clever logo flips and thought provoking parody graphics—the shoes feature a large half Swoosh on the lateral side of the heel, while the medial side’s standard Converse star logo is replaced with Chinatown Market’s signature smiley face graphic. The rest of the shoe’s classic aesthetic is left intact, as the black canvas upper and sail midsole with a black stripe provide the quintessential look the Chuck Taylor is loved for the world over.  Fan of the Converse/Nike/Chinatown Market fusion? You may have to be patient as pairs of the shoe are one-offs gifted by Cherman to friends and family, but now with King James donning a pair it’s not out of the realm of possibility that we may see a physical release within the next few months.
