While 2017 was the unofficial year of the Air Max 97, due to it celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Swoosh has not stopped releasing a plethora of new looks this calendar year. Due to the massive momentum it gathered last year, it has propelled itself into being one of the most popular Nike silhouettes, which has led to experimentation with logos, color schemes, materials, and more. Next up for the 97 is a brand new construction that ushers in mesh, and tumbled leather, as well as a scaly-looking pattern on its midfoot shank. To introduce this slightly altered look, Nike calls upon a simple black and blue color scheme that allows for the new additions to take center stage.
