In honor of this year’s 12th Chinese New Year celebration, the Swoosh is paying homage to the entirety of the rotating cycle with two Air Max 98 creations that harken back to the last decade-plus of CNY-specific Nikes. Featuring a popularly boisterous “What The”-style detailing, the AM98 you see here designed specifically for the ladies equips a number of head-turning embellishments from iridescent glows to pony hair panelling. While elements from the past are indeed present, this design still fits in firmly with the overall aesthetic of 2019’s collection as it comes anchored by a traditional Chinese Bai Jia Yi quilted pattern that has already been seen on models the likes of the Air Jordan 12 and the Nike Kyrie 5. Grab an official look at the Air Max 98 “What The Chinese New Year” below and keep it locked for official release information as we have it.
