Packer Shoes Revives The Jersey Devil For The 20th Anniversary Of New Balance MT580

There’s plenty to fear in the state of New Jersey, and we’re not talking about the guido dance-party scene in the Jersey Shore. Today, Packer Shoes unveils its latest sneaker collaboration inspired by the Jersey Devil, the legendary creature born out of one of the creepiest origins in the history of American folklore. The Jersey Devil is said to be the thirteenth child born from a witch and the devil himself back in 1735, only to re-emerge in the late 1800s and terrorize the Pine Barrens in Southern New Jersey. The MT580 design reflects trail-running (a nod to the silhouette’s origin) as well as the dark colors of the creature itself, with a mix of suede and ballistic nylon materials. Matching the shoes is a limited edition apparel capsule created in collaboration with Japanese brand Lafayette; a poly-nylon shell jacket, long-sleeve tee, beanie, and wool cap will be part of the release. The Packer Shoes x New Balance MT580 “Pine Barrens” (limited to 500 pairs worldwide) and the apparel collection releases this Friday, March 25th, at both Packer Shoes locations and online.
