Sugar Hill Records Ewing 33 Hi Available Now

Ewing Athletics certainly knows how to leverage heritage products and storytelling. After revealing Big Pun and Drink Champs collaborations earlier this summer and drawing upon Patrick Ewing’s Jamaican heritage for yet another drop, the old-school brand is back again with another special Ewing 33 Hi. This time, the collaborative partner is none other than Sugar Hill Records—the first ever hip hop record label, who’s known for the Sugar Hill Gang and their hit single “Rapper’s Delight,” the first ever hip-hop song to crack the Top 40 charts way back in 1979.

The shoe’s design draws from the classic logos and colors Sugar Hill used for their 12 inch vinyl records. A powder blue suede covers the upper, while the thick ankle strap is dressed in a bright rainbow gradient, as is the shoe’s second set of laces. A rainbow-colored Sugar Hill logo appears on the upper’s lateral side, and “SUGAR HILL” appears in large white block letters on the heels. A two-tone midsole and outsole complete the look, and the shoes come packaged in a special box modeled after OG Sugar Hill vinyl covers. A must for any old-school hip hop lover, the commemorative kicks are available now at the Ewing Athletics webstore, and retail for $140 USD.
