Unlimited Fun: Camping and the Olympic Track & Field Trials With Nike

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to get invited by Nike out to the USA Track & Field Trials at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. If you’ve been keeping up with Nike’s upcoming collection of performance footwear for the Olympics this summer in Rio de Janeiro, then you know the theme of the bright Volt and Hyper Punch colorways is “Unlimited”—a reference to the wearer’s unlimited athletic abilities, and Nike’s design ethos as a whole: the ultimate athletic footwear and apparel brand on Earth, bursting with unlimited inspiration and possibilities.

Unlimited You. That was the theme of the weekend for the select group of media members that got to participate in three days filled with luxury camping, sneakers and workout gear, and tickets to the first three days of the Olympic trials where we watched the world’s greatest athletes like Ashton Eaton and Allyson Felix compete. As if we weren’t already spoiled enough, we even got the honor of stepping on the legendary track at Hayward Field ourselves for a speed run session where we tried out some of Nike’s latest and most innovative spikes—the same models you’ll be able to easily spot on the Olympians this summer in the eye-catching “Unlimited” color scheme.
