Amid the ongoing pandemic and nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd, diverse organizations are requesting donations to aid their respective causes. Artists are also releasing original artworks to stir up support with proceeds from their sales to benefit justice organizations, COVID-19 relief funds, and more.

Christian Rex van Minnen is auctioning a 10-color stone lithograph titled Them New Thought Motherf*ckers to support the owner of Mama Safia’s Kitchen in Minneapolis, Safia Munye. Her business, among others, was destroyed during last week’s George Floyd protests. “But this can be replaced,” Munye said. “George’s life cannot. George’s life was more important.” van Minnen is donating 100 percent of the print sales to Save Mama Safia’s Kitchen’s GoFundMe. The numbered and signed print is available in an edition of 40.

New York-based design studio Bodega Rose is raffling off an Air Jordan 1 “Travis Scott”-inspired vase to aid medically vulnerable people who are currently being held in jails throughout New York. All of the proceeds from the raffle will go towards the COVID Bail Out Fund, which provides bail and comprehensive post-release support, such as shelter and food, to those in need of its help. The winner of the raffle will be emailed and announced on Bodega Rose’s Instagram.

Chicago-born artist Ryan Travis Christian is auctioning off a print to support the end of police violence and white supremacy through organizations like Assata’s Daughters, Circles & Ciphers, Black Lives Matter Chicago and more. Christian’s charcoal print depicts a 1930s-inspired cartoon enamored by an explosion. Proceeds from the print sale will be distributed evenly among the aforementioned charities. A collector is matching the winning bid by 200 percent.

Sotheby’s Hong Kong and AllRightsReserved COVID-19 Charity Auction

Sotheby’s Hong Kong has teamed up with AllRightsReserved for the latest installment of its Contemporary Showcase online auction series. Highlights of the auction include limited-edition collectibles and original artworks from the likes of KAWS, Verdy, Yu Nagaba, David Shrigley, Joan Cornellà and more. All of the auction’s proceeds will go to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals’ “Share Love & Fight the Epidemic” donation campaign for COVID-19 relief.

JIGGY Originals Hand-Painted Puzzles

Puzzle producer JIGGY has enlisted New York-based creatives for a new series of 500-piece jigsaws that feature hand-drawn and painted work. Each artist’s contribution is a one-off piece of art that also functions as a usable puzzle. The latest round of JIGGY Originals includes Futura’s signature splashy graffiti-rooted design. Other puzzles feature the works of Mike Perry, Mel Reese, Eric Inkala, among others. Proceeds, except for Futura’s sale, will directly benefit the Artist Relief Fund, which keeps working artists afloat in a time of crisis.
