Best Sneaker Releases: October 2017 Week 1

Once upon a time, Nikeadidas and other sneaker brands would bless us with coveted releases once, maybe twice a month. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for different footwear labels to drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. Making your cop or drop decision as easy as possible, we continue our weekly roundup of the most sought after silhouettes for the week. Nike SF AF-1 Mid (Black/Gum)

Nike’s military inspired Air Force 1 returns in a Mid-cut form. Ballistic mesh and tumbled leather join forces to carry on its theme as it rests atop of a retro gum sole. Its strap returns to the sneaker and is complemented by a dual-zip entry on its heel for easier access in and out of the sneaker. This iteration follows a wide selection of color options from the Swoosh from “Orange Quartz“ to “Mushroom” and a few others.

Nike Flyknit Trainer “Bright Citron”

Nike’s running umbrella continues to ride the wave of the Flyknit Trainer trend. Following editions such as “Cookies & Cream,” “Pale Grey” and others, the lightweight sneaker is back in “Bright Citron.” Its white outsole is contrasted thanks to black piping above it and Bright Yellow coloring incorporated within its Flyknit upper. Its Swoosh is delivered in black for its final touch.

Nike Zoom Fly SP “Chicago”

The rising Nike Zoom Fly SP is set to pay homage to the City of “Chicago.” Its thick white sole unit is complemented by a translucent stretch-woven material with rust colored detailing. Light purple is placed on its lacing and aglets while extra cushioning is found around its ankle. This silhouette  previously released in white/black while its relative Zoom Vaporfly was a part of Nike’s “The Ten” pack in collaboration with Virgil Abloh.

adidas EQT Support ADV “Wicker Park”

adidas Originals makes its way to Chicago with a new flagship store. Using the EQT Support ADV model, the sneaker serves as the canvas of expression resting atop of a white sole unit. Its upper boasts black Primeknit material in addition to suede, mesh and nubuck. Nods to Chicago’s city flag and transit system are placed on the tongue and heels via its red and blue coloring and graphics.

Nike SF AF-1 “Midnight Navy”

The popular Nike SF AF-1 is back in “Midnight Navy.” Its gum outsole unit is back in tact while its dual set of straps close out the design. Tumbled leather coats its toebox and midfoot area while ballistic mesh is found on its heel and ankle area. This colorway follows previous iterations such as “Velvet Brown” and “Total Orange.”

Saner x Nike Air Force 1 Low

Nike’s annual Latin Heritage Month celebration is back. Designed by street-artist, Saner, the commemorative Air Force 1 Low hosts designs inspired pre-hispanic cultures. Black coloring plays as the graphic’s complementary color as its outsole is coated in translucent blue. Jaguar influenced stitching is placed on its heel for its last touch.

Air Jordan 1 Flyknit “Royal”

Jordan Brand continues to innovate with another edition of its Air Jordan 1 Flyknit. Following its “Bred” colorway, “Royal” falls next in line as its complemented by black and white coloring. Flyknit takes the place of the Air Jordan 1′s expected leather for a lightweight feel. The aforementioned leather materials are placed on the inner lining as a nod to the history of the Air Jordan 1.

Nike Vandal High Supreme

An OG returns in this Nike Vandal High Supreme. Taking it back to 1985, its street-savvy aesthetic welcomes Metallic Silver coloring throughout its upper and is complemented by University Red and blue coloring. Its removable strap returns as its famed nylon upper sets the tone, providing a nostalgic feel.
