Best Sneaker Releases: September 2017 Week 3

Once upon a time, Nikeadidas and other sneaker brands would bless us with coveted releases once, maybe twice a month. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for different footwear labels to drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. Making your cop or drop decision as easy as possible, we continue our weekly roundup of the most sought after silhouettes for the week. CLOT x Converse One Star

This release pays respect to the Chinese art of Tai Chi. Hong-Kong’s own CLOT provides us with its take on the subtle Converse One Star model with zen Chinese symbols for serenity as a complement to its hairy suede upper. For the finishing touch, this collaborative pair will be housed in a premium box marked with martial arts illustrations and Tai Chi movements on its lid.

UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Max 97

UNDEFEATED and Nike have joined forces again to deliver a special edition of the Nike Air Max 97. This month we’ll see two colorway options of the model that sport UNDEFEATED branding all around its upper. The forthcoming black and white dominated iterations both sport patent leather material that complement the visible Air Max unit which is housed within each respective midsole. Both colorways will drop exclusively at UNDFTD which will then be followed by a release of the black pair only via Nike.

NikeLab Zoom Fly SP

Nike’s Zoom Fly SP returns mixing white and black coloring providing the perfect contrast. The model has seen a few colorways over the past few months with its white and orange iteration gaining the most popularity thanks to its limited availability. The aforementioned colorway was also seen on the feet of Off-White™ founder Virgil Abloh. You can expect this edition to fly off of shelves upon its drop, will you be copping?

Nike Flyknit Trainer “Cirrus Blue”

Nike’s Flyknit Trainer craze continues thanks to a brand new colorway. The “Cirrus Blue” drop follows previous launches including the popular “Cookies & Cream,” “Pale Grey,” and “Bright Citron.” The Nike runner stays true to its original design thanks to black coloring incorporated on its upper for a contrast plus its white midsole and black Swoosh logos on its lateral and medial sides.

The Three Stripes is next to contribute to the bulky sneaker trend. Thanks to its “A//D” pack you’ll have the option between adidas‘ TwinStrike and adiStar Comp silhouettes that both mix white, blue, red and off white coloring. Part of the adidas Consortium line, each model exudes a past meets present vibe thanks to glossy leather, Climacool mesh and reflective detailing being present throughout.

A trio of sports come together within Balenciaga’s new Triple S sneaker. Running, basketball and track & field clash with one another to present what the brand describes as a ‘visual composite.’ The model continues the bulky trend thanks to its stacked midsole and worn-in look. Balenciaga keeps its branding to a minimum as the name can be found on its lateral side to complement its speckled laces. Balenciaga’s Triple S trainer will drop in a selection of colorway options and is expected to sell out pretty quickly.

Nike Classic Cortez x INTI “Latin Heritage Month”

Nike goes back to one of its most notable models to celebrate Latin Heritage month. The Classic Cortez sneaker receives a makeover from artist INTI with special symbols from Later American culture on its canvas upper. Dominated by purple coloring, the Chilean artist carries on the Swoosh tradition using the Cortez as the canvas of expression.

Nike Air More Uptempo “Knicks”

The year of the Air More Uptempo continues with the upcoming “Knicks” edition. Its loud “AIR” branding returns in blue to complement its white base and orange detailing. The model rests atop of its traditional visible Air Max unit and is topped of with a comedic nod via its insole logo calling out Scottie Pippen’s dunk on Patrick Ewing and number 33 found on its heel.

Air Jordan 32 “Rosso Corsa”

Michael Jordan’s legacy continues with the Air Jordan 32 model. Jordan Brand’s next signature displays inspiration from the Air Jordan 2, following suit of the Air Jordan 1-inspired Jordan 31 silhouette. The “Rosso Corsa” edition of the Air Jordan 32 will serve as the sneaker’s inaugural drop which will then be followed by a “Bred” edition in October. Nike’s Flyknit material is combined with high-tenacity yarn to create a flexible upper that also shows promise in the durability department.

Air Jordan 11 Low IE “Gym Red”

The Air Jordan 11 Low IE returns in “Gym Red.” Taking the Jordan 11 Low model in a different direction, its upper is dominated with white coloring and complements by the aforementioned “Gym Red” on its outsole and elephant print detailing found on its upper. Breathability is also enhanced thanks to its mesh pods found around its upper. The sneaker is finished off with a black Jumpman logo on its tongue.
