Nike Sportswear‘s Air Max 2090 has appeared in a new “Valerian Blue” color scheme. Melding the DNA of the Air Max 90 with futuristic materials and conceptual style, the 2090 is a potent combination of Nike Air Max past and present, all wrapped up in an appealing silhouette.

Semi-translucent TPE and sturdy textiles are combined in equal measure on the upper. A clear base is accented by pops of volt and black — the former around the eyestays, the latter on mudguards, toeboxes, throats, heels and outlined Swooshes. Black and volt are then brought together on the flecked heel tab, which sits above an Air Max 90-inspired badge.
“Valerian Blue” is brought into the mix by way of the tongue’s circular cut-out plastic piece. It also appears around the midsole’s heel, encasing the bulbous blue Air Max unit and contrasting with the volt forefoot. Three-tone outsoles round off the look in style. This dashing duo of accenting hues is somewhat reminiscent of the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% “Valerian Blue.”
