Supreme Team Member Lui Elliott in San Francisco

After launching in October 2019, design firm Brinkworth has offered an alternative look at Supreme San Francisco, the latest outpost of the storied label. Specifically, Brinkworth friend, client and collaborator Phil Young, founder of The Mighty-Mighty, was tapped to film skater and Supreme friend Lui Elliott tearing up the city of San Francisco.

Brinkworth worked in tandem with the Wilson Brothers to create the new store, centralized around a suspended skate bowl that’s an homage to both Supreme’s skate legacy and other Supreme stores with embedded bowls, like its Brooklyn store. “The bowl is like a huge speaker,” explained Adam Brinkworth, founder of the London-based design firm. “Getting immersed in the thunderous sound of it being ridden makes my hair stand on end.”

Seeking to capture the raw energy of skating the city, Brinkworth and Young brought skate video legend Dan Magee on board to film Elliott as he tears up San Francisco. The short clip is a celebration of the dynamic architecture and population that informs the city, along with Elliott’s effortless board-feel and daring innovation (at one point he leaps over an unsuspecting passersby). Young also contributed a series of moody shots that highlight the in-store bowl and that sculptures created by Mark Gonzales.
