There is a phenomenon that is peculiar only to Major Lazer shows: an unusual crowd formation known as a ‘twerk riot’.
Gigwise first learns of this when we meet the band in London’s Edition Hotel. The trio of Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire are in remarkably good form given they only got off stage at 2am. They certainly put on a hell of a show at The Victoria in Dalston – including previewing their forthcoming new album Peace Is The Mission and a surprise airing of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ alongside dropping tracks by Riff Raff and Rae Sremmurd. The crowning glory comes in the form of Major Lazer’s biggest radio hit yet – the massive ‘Lean On’ featuring Mo.
