The wraps are finally off the serially-teased McLaren 675LT, the sportiest model in what the company now calls its “Super Series” line.

With a devilish 666bhp on tap, aggressive styling and a set-up that’s as track-focused as possible while remaining road-legal, the McLaren 675LT could well be the quintessential supercar.

McLaren Automotive has only been in business for four years yet in that time it has managed to go from a standstill to being neck and neck with the best that Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche have to offer.

However, with its latest car, the 675LT, it may just have overtaken all of its serious competition!

The car’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 675PS or 666bph and that power enables the almost completely carbon-fiber car to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 205mph (330km/h).

To put those figures into perspective, Ferrari’s latest V8 supercar, the 488GTB, which will also be making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, offers 660bhp, a top speed of 208mph (334kph) and a 0-100km/h dash time of 3.0 seconds.

"Ferrari

The Porsche 911 Turbo S has just 553bhp and a top speed of 197mph (317km/h) and its 0-100km/h time is 3.1 seconds; while the latest small Lamborghini, the Huracan offers 602bhp from its V10 engine a 202mph+ (325+km/h) top speed and 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds.
