Famous French\u2019s patisserie, Ladur\u00e9e and contemporary artist, Marina Abramovi\u0107 is proud to present the newly designed macaron at Harrods in London this month after quite a patient wait.<\/p>\n

About 250 boxes was launched on Oct 16-22, at Ladur\u00e9e Paris on rue de Castiglione and at the Grand Palais for the FIAC International Art Fair.<\/p>\n

The macarons are created to Prussian Blue, which Artnet News, a global art market newswire described the French\u2019s patisserie as \u201ca shade that references the artist\u2019s parents, who were war heroes in Yugoslavia \u2013 and leave a \u2018guilty blue stain\u2019 on the tongue.<\/p>\n

To keep ideas fresh and French-made macaron attractive in the world of pastries, Rapha\u00ebl Castoriano, Founder and Creative Director of Kr\u00ebemart and also the creator behind macaron partnerswith Abramovi\u0107 to conceptualise and design their own macaron.<\/p>\n

According to an announcement, Abramovi\u0107 was chosen as \u201cthe first subject of Pastry Portrait\u201d, to be part of this exciting \u201cjoint endeavor by Ladur\u00e9e and Castoriano\u201d because of her \u201caffinity for the intangible and the immaterial.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I said I wanted to have my own taste, they asked me so many questions\u2026 what I like, the colours, the smells, the landscapes in nature, the memories of childhood\u2026 all of this went into the Pastry Portrait of me.\u201d \u2013 Marina Abramovic<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Marina Abramovi\u0107 explains how her macaron tastes like:<\/h2>\n

\u201cMy grandmother, early morning, making coffee,\u201d said the artist of her impressions while biting into a macaron in a launch video, according to Artnet, which was at the London launch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I remember the smells of fresh basil, thyme, cardamom seeds, and exotic smells from the trips I took later on and remember exploring volcanoes and waterfalls and remember this feeling in the early morning when I see the line of the sea just meet the ocean, and ocean meet the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n

The newly-designed Prussian Blue is stamped with Abramovi\u0107 s family crest, symbolising \u201cthe balance between fragility and strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

Comes in limited-edition boxes of three macarons per box, one of the macaron is wrapped in gold leaf. The box customised to a pyramid shape \u201creferring to freemasonry, a symbol of \u2018energy\u2019 and \u2018power\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Future launches are planned for Milan, New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Tokyo.<\/em><\/p>\n
