In fact, as early as after World War II, its founders Jim Northrop and George Johnson were focused on forming a partnership to provide quality yacht brokerage service to their close circle of yachting companions on Long Island Sound. From that time, they were quickly known as the \u201cGentlemen Brokers\u201d of Northrop & Johnson within the tight-knit yachting community of New York, thereby creating the foundation on which the company\u2019s sterling reputation was formed.<\/p>\n

Its business longevity continues till this day and with six decades of firm dedication to meet its clients\u2019 yachting needs, Northrop & Johnson clearly commands one of the world\u2019s foremost authority on the sale, purchase, charter, management and new construction of luxury superyachts. As Asia\u2019s yachting needs expand\u00a0and beckon, Northrop & Johnson is priming its business by welcoming Martin Holmes as General Manager of Asia.<\/p>\n

Having been surrounded by boats much of his life, Martin considers this relevance very meaningful now. Hailing from the UK, he has a wide range of yachting experience and spent several years sailing in the Mediterranean and Australia before heading to Asia where he joined Lee Marine shortly after its inception in 1997. During his 20 years in Asia, he has been involved in hundreds of yacht sales, both brokerage and new construction, and has witnessed the steady growth of the yachting industry in Asia firsthand. In 2018, Martin joined Northrop & Johnson as general manager of the Asia operation, which includes offices in Thailand and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
