Food Network star Geoffrey Zakarian (and former LLNYC cover star) has some great new things cooking. The restaurateur and author is heading west with plans to open a restaurant and bar at the Montage Beverly Hills this June.

The Montage is known as a celeb hotspot — last month Justin Bieber played piano and serenaded Selena Gomez there and Sean Penn previously hosted his annual pre-Golden Globes soiree for Haiti there. It will now house the eatery “Georgie,” named for Zakarian’s two-year-old son George, and the “Garden Bar,” reports Page Six.

From Zakarian’s site, he explains the eatery’s concept, “Georgie will be a Modern American restaurant serving three square meals a day, while the Garden Bar will be more of a lounge area, though also open all day doing everything from coffee to cocktails.”

The American Iron Chef and East Coaster, who got his start at Le Cirque under Daniel Boulud, now plans to be bicoastal and is currently looking for a Beverly Hills or Malibu home.

He relayed to the Post, “I am very impressed with the incredible chefs and food scene in Los Angeles and am quite humbled to be a small part of it.”
