Introducing the Next Generation of G-Star 3D Denim With Aitor Throup

Following the announcement earlier this year that Pharrell Williams now co-owns G-Star RAW, the brand continues to modernize its denim range with the creative consultancy of innovative designer and visual artist, Aitor Throup.

The Staq pant epitomizes the next generation of 3D denim for G-Star. Throup explained that in engineering the Staq, “We wanted to breathe life into the jeans, so that even when they’re on the hanger they look like they’re being worn.”

The inventive technicalities behind the stacking effect that gives the jeans their name are characteristic of both G-Star and Throup. A continuous tape runs down the inner and outer seams of the jean legs, tacked in specific places, creating the iconic three-dimensional aesthetic.

It seems fitting that on the 20th anniversary of the Elwood, G-Star’s original 3D denim, they herald in the next generation. The G-Star Staq pant is available in-store and online now.
