1948 FORD SUPER DELUXE MARMON-HERRINGTON WAGON

The Woodie station wagon originated from the early practice of
manufacturing the passenger compartment portion of a vehicle in
hardwood, it is most closely associated with mid-century surf culture.
This pristine example featured here is an original Ford Super Deluxe V8 Marmon-Herrington Wagon,
an exceptionally rare period conversion to four-wheel drive. Headed to
auction, this 1948 year model was modified by Marmon-Herrington and got
some major upgrades. It is powered by a 239 CI 59A-B flathead V-8 engine
mated to a 4-speed Borg Warner manual transmission, which sends power
to an all-wheel drive drivetrain. And, best of all, the car has only
covered approximately 500 miles since its recent restoration, meaning
it?s as good as new if not better.
