perched high on a steep hillside away from the surging tourist crowds,
and has a mind-blowing view of the Aegean Sea and the volcanic
landscape. Dug entirely into the volcanic rock without any foundations,
the minimalist retreat designed by Kapsimalis Architects,
consists of a living room, a dining area, a kitchen, a main bedroom and
two bathrooms oriented towards to the view. The use of sliding,
floor-to-ceiling glass doors also makes it possible for the interior
areas to seamlessly blend into the exterior terrace which includes a
sunbathing deck and an infinity pool.
