Mid-Autumn festival is just around the corner, and one streetwear brand helping you to celebrate in style is none other than Japanese stalwart BAPE and its diffusion line AAPE By A Bathing Ape. As a celebration of the full-moon — which falls near the Autumn Equinox — the holiday is spent sharing moon-shaped cakes. Thanks to BAPE Store HK and AAPE By A Bathing Ape locations, the mini egg custard mooncakes with the ubiquitous Ape head covering the top will be available starting Sunday, September 2. Each gift contains four mooncakes, all neatly placed in a tin lunchbox style container and further protected by BAPE camouflage packaging. On the other hand, the AAPE mooncakes see a clear protective case.
The drawback is, these special mooncakes are not for sale; customers who spend $6,000 HKD (approximately $767 USD) or more at BAPE’s Hong Kong locations will receive them for free, while AAPE By A Bathing Ape customers need to spend at least $2,500 HKD (approximately $320 USD).
