Guerrilla-Group 2017 (A)RISE Editorial | HYPEBEAST

The Taiwan-based collective, Guerrilla-Group wraps up 2017 with some new outerwear pieces for the upcoming winter seasons. In the latest visual-editorial, the design group draws inspiration from the phenomenon of  Taiwanese puppet theater — which spread across the internet for it’s masterfully-crafted fight sequences. Enlisting 900-sculptor-studio to produce masks inspired by Peking Opera, the visuals perfectly represent the combination of traditional Chinese culture and militaristic function; an aesthetic that has become the signature of GG. As smoothly-curved seams are paired with rough edges and rugged textiles, the tailoring evokes a feeling of movement, similar to the expressive silhouettes featured in the visuals above. The lookbook also features products from “Natural Disaster,” a collaboration with Beijing-based producer, Howie Lee for his upcoming EP. Head over to the Guerrilla-Group website now for a closer look.
