How to Hack the SNES Classic

As soon as the SNES Classic released, eager minded gamers tried their hands at a few different things to see how they could manipulate the console in order to get the most out of it. Of those eager minded gamers, YouTube user Skullator took the time to walk his viewers on how they can add their own ROMs to the console. Coming pre-installed with 20+ games, Skullator says Nintendo isn’t using the full storage capacity of the console. “Only about 80mb of the device’s 300mb storage is used by Nintendo.”

In order to start the process, Skullator mentions the programs and scripts you’ll need to modify your SNES Classic. It isn’t a simple process, however, as it does take a while for Skullator to properly walk through and show each step in detail. “This is an early version of the exploit, so it’s quite a few steps and a reasonably complicated process which is likely to become a bit easier in the coming few weeks.”

If you’re a SNES Classic owner and want to try the process out for yourself, watch Skullator’s full video tutorial above, as well as read up on how to use the Hackchi2 tool properly.
