Maserati's All-Electric Alfieri Set to Launch in 2020

Maserati has announced that it will be launching an electric vehicle version of its two-seater Alfieri concept car, showcased at the LA Auto show back in 2014. The battery-powered automobile will closely resemble the upcoming fueled V6 Alfieri, and will function more as a “grand-touring coupe” instead of competing with the Tesla Model S. Given that the Fiat-Chrysler led company is late to the EV game, Maserati engineering lead Roberto Fedeli mentioned that they are looking to bring something “very different” to distinguish themselves from its competitors.

The gasoline variant is scheduled to go on sale starting in 2019, which was delayed from its original 2016 date due to the vehicle manufacturer’s decision to alter the design to fit environmental requirements.
