Rolex Submariner Sells for Over $1 Million USD

Christie’s recently held “An Evening of Exceptional Watches” auction in New York City, having sold over $7 million USD in watches. The highlight of the sale goes to a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner from 1956. The vintage watch sold for over $1 million USD, making it the most expensive watch to be sold at auction. The precious item is equipped with an automatic caliber 1030, a black dial with Arabic numerals, and the original Nato strap. The watch belonged to a travel aficionado who initially purchased the watch for 100 Canadian dollars back in the 1950s.

Accompanying the big-ticket timepiece is another Rolex called the Oyster Cosmograph, or the “Paul Newman” model, which was the second largest sale at approximately $732,500 USD. Head over to Christie’s official website to learn more.
