visvim 2018 Spring/Summer Collection | HYPEBEAST

Japanese imprint visvim brought its artisanal East-meets-west approach to New York Fashion Week with a one-day, appointment-only presentation at 180 Duane St. in Tribeca. Creative Director Hiroki Nakamura was in attendance to present his Spring/Summer 2016 collection of updated heritage garments. Kimono-inspired outerwear made of buttery suede and hand-painted silk, a dedicated vintage denim section, and a whole host of elaborate patterns, prints, embroidered details and Americana motifs stayed true to the label’s distinctive brand identity. Moccasin sneakers, traditional Japanese clog slippers, leather goods, vintage bandanas and a robust selection of backpacks and handbags displayed a mixed bag of cultural influences that fused modernity with tradition.
